  • Now select the options, Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically and click on OK to save the changes.

FIX 2: Update your router’s firmware:

As per a few suffered users, just by updating the router’s firmware, the DNS server not responding error got resolved for them. FIX 3: Use the netsh command:

  • Firstly, go to the desktop search bar, type cmd, and launch Command Prompt from the search result. Make sure you launch it with administrator access.Command Prompt

netsh int ip reset

 netsh winsock reset

 ipconfig /flushdns

 ipconfig /renew

  • Make sure you press Enter after each one of them.

FIX 4: Disable Internet Protocol Version 6:

By disabling the Internet Protocol Version 6, you can resolve the DNS Server isn’t Responding error in no time. For doing so, follow the steps given below:

  • Firstly, in the desktop search bar type Control panel and open the first search result.
  • Then in the control panel, select Network and Sharing Center category.
  • Now Select Change adapter settings from the right-pane menu.
  • Then from the newly opened window, right-click over your network connection and select its Properties.
  • On the next prompt, untick the checkbox for the option Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
  • Click on the OK button to save the changes.
  • Lastly, check whether the said issue got resolved now.

FIX 5: Disable your antivirus and firewall:

At times, third-party antivirus and firewall can interfere with the functioning of your DNS server resulting in disabling its functionality. Here you can disable the antivirus and firewall and check whether it helps or not.

NOTE: Antivirus and firewall are necessary for system protection from online threats; thus, make sure you enable it soon after the issue got resolved. However, if any of these components are found responsible for the said issue, then consider replacing them with another trusted, reliable resource.

FIX 6: Restart your Modem:

Another simple procedure is to restart your Modem. For doing so, follow the steps given below,

  • Press the Power button on your Modem and turn it off.
  • Now wait for 30 seconds and then press the power button again to turn it On.
  • Once the Modem turns On completely, check whether the said issue got resolved or not.

FIX 7: Start your PC in Safe Mode

If none of the above-mentioned fixes worked for you, then we recommend you to start your PC in safe mode and check whether it helps or not. Follow the steps given below:

  • Firstly, open the Start Menu, click on the Power button.
  • Now press and hold the Shift key and then click on Restart.
  • Here from the list of options, click on Troubleshoot.
  • Now select Advanced options -> Startup Settings and then click on the Restart tab.
  • Once your computer restarts, it will open a list of options. Here press the F5 key to select the option Safe Mode with Networking.
  • It will launch the Safe Mode.
  • Now check your Network connection and confirm whether it is working or not.
