As a user’s one needs to fulfill a few conditions for getting allowed to download pending Windows Updates. One such condition is passing the timestamp check.

Here the solution is to check whether the date and time in your system aren’t off by any manner of days, months or years. To ensure that, follow the steps given below:

  • Firstly, launch the RUN dialogue box, type timedate.cpl in the empty text box and then click on OK. It will launch the Date and Time window.Date and Time
  • Now inside the Date and Time window, navigate to the Internet Time tab from the Horizontal menu and then click on Change settings. If UAC (User Account Control)prompt appeared on your screen , click on Yes.

FIX 2: Run the SFC and DISM Scans:

Here the best solution is to run scans for any corrupted Windows files, i.e., the SFC and DISM scans. Make sure you run both the utilities. For doing so, follow the steps given below:

FOR SFC scan:

  • Firstly, go to the desktop search bar, type cmd and press Enter. Now from the search result, launch the Command Prompt window and make sure you launch it with administrator access.sfc/ scannow
  • In the Command Prompt text screen, type sfc/ scannow and then press Enter to proceed the scanning process.
  • Let the process completes on its own and does not close the window in between.
  • Once the scanning process completed, restart the system and check whether the said issue resolved for you.
NOTE: It is a local tool, so you won’t be requiring an internet connection for this. Though for DISM scan, make sure you have an uninterrupted internet connection.

For DISM scan:

  • Launch the Command Prompt window as explained above.scan health
  • Now inside the Command Prompt window type the following commands and then press Enter after each of the command:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

  • The scanning process might take a long time; thus, make sure you do not end it in between. Further, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the operation.
  • Once the scan is completed, restart your computer and check whether it helped or not.

FIX 3: Download the Latest Version of AccountRight (if applicable):

A lot of users received the Update Error 0X800B0101 while they tried to update or install AccountRight. This is because of the badly written security certificate that would have got attached to the application version, which was available for download. Now the situation was arising due to the AccountRight developers’ mistake of assigning a years old expiration date.

Follow the procedure below for utilizing the Microsoft Update Catalog for downloading and installing the required updates even before installing the System Center Configuration Manager update.

  • Firstly, navigate to the official page of the Microsoft Update Catalog.
  • Now on the search bar, type KB2756872 and press Enter.
  • Further from the search result, locate a compatible version with your Windows build by going through the OS architecture and the Windows version.

Note: For users who aren’t familiar with their OS architecture, Go to File Explorer, right-click on This PC and then select Properties. Now from the list of results, locate the System type and further check the bit version of your OS.

  • Now once you have found the compatible version, click on the Download button and let the process get completed on its own.
  • Once done, go to the downloaded file’s location, right-click on the .inf file and then select the option Install.
  • Further, follow the on-screen instruction and complete the process. Make sure you repeat the required steps for Update (KB2749655) as well.
  • Lastly, restart your computer and then finally install the failing System Center Configuration Manager Windows Update.
